Learning Together
Active Learning
The South Whidbey Children's Center provides developmentally appropriate,
progressive, curriculum- based early learning and childcare for
children twelve months to twelve years.
We believe that children are competent and curious learners and
we meet them where they are to provide active learning opportunities.
Our low teacher-child ratio encourages children to develop trusting
relationships with adults and allows teachers to facilitate children's
social-emotional development. Children have access to a variety
of materials with which they acquire meaningful knowledge and
develop an understanding of the natural world around them.
Commitment to Quality
Commitment to Your Child, Your Family
Ready to Learn, Ready to Grow
We are licensed by the Department of Early Learning and are among
the elite 10% of early learning centers in this country that are
accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young
Children (NAEYC). Our Center uses the High/Scope curriculum model-
which engages children in learning through active participation.
The children who participate in our programs enter school with
well-developed social and emotional skills and are prepared to
be successful in their next learning environment.
